Stephen James chaired the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys Autumn Conference in Barcelona in September. In January, he spoke at an INTA/OHIM round table on the need for disclaimers in OHIM practice in Alicante.
Stephen James also spoke on recent ECJ/CFI decisions at the Eurolegal conference in February, and addressed the same topic on behalf of ITMA in January and February in a tour of U.S. cities including Chicago, New Brunswick, New York and Washington, D.C.
Roger George, Stephen James and Tim Pendered attended the INTA Leadership Meeting in Florida in November and will be attending the INTA Annual Meeting in Toronto in May.
Roger George and Stephen James were in a delegation representing the U.K. trademark profession before OHIM in March.
The trade mark team expanded in January with 2 new professionals, Katie Cameron and Jennifer Pratt. Katie and Jennifer bring valuable knowledge and experience and Jenkins welcomes them.
As joint editor of the Community Designs Handbook, David Musker oversaw the first release which was issued in November. He was also appointed an Editorial Board member of the new Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice, and attended the Asian Patent Attorney’s Association meeting in New Delhi in November.
David Musker and Stephen James spoke in February at C5’s Annual Trade Mark Conference on “Designs for the Trade Mark Practitioner” and “Recent ECJ/CFI Cases: How They Will Affect Your business.”
Stephen James and Katie Cameron gave a presentation to Chinese government officials on trade mark matters in February. Jenkins was the only firm of private practitioners in the country that the Chinese delegation visited.
