    Fiona graduated from Glasgow University in 1998 with a first class Honours degree in Biochemistry.  During her degree, she completed a research project in which an Arabidopsis cDNA library was screened to isolate full-length cDNAs coding for two distinct acyl-CoA oxidase enzymes.  In 2003, Fiona was awarded a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, having conducted research on the structure of the ATP synthase enzyme.  Her research involved the techniques of protein purification, protein crystallisation, X-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

    Fiona entered the patent profession in 2003.  She joins Jenkins in 2011 after working for a Cambridge based firm of patent attorneys and subsequently in the intellectual property department of a biotechnological company.

    Fiona is working towards qualification as a patent attorney.

    In her spare time, she enjoys music, running and travelling.
