Tim Pendered qualified as a mechanical engineer at the University of Dundee in 1977. After a short period as an engineer in the paper industry, Tim entered the patent profession in private practice in 1980 and qualified professionally in 1986. He now divides his time, uniquely in the firm, between patent and trade mark work.
His patent work includes drafting and prosecution of UK, European and foreign applications, as well as advising on validity and infringement issues. He also advises on matters relating to designs and copyright. On the trade mark side, Tim is responsible for looking after the trade mark portfolios of a number of UK and overseas clients. He has extensive experience of searching and registering marks in the UK, Europe and elsewhere, as well as handling opposition and cancellation proceedings and advising on validity and infringement issues. With Dave Musker, Tim heads up the firm’s Community Design team. He is on the ITMA Designs Committee and is a member of INTA and ECTA.
